As students head back to school, the Malvern Fire Company reminds everyone that safety starts with awareness.

Each morning and afternoon, children will be walking to bus stops, crossing streets, riding bicycles, and traveling to and from school. Drivers play a critical role in keeping them safe.

✅ Slowdown in school zones.
✅ Stop for school buses when required by law.
✅ Watch for children crossing between parked cars.
✅ Eliminate distractions and put your phone away while driving.
✅ Be extra cautious near bus stops, crosswalks, and neighborhoods.

Children can be unpredictable, especially when excited to see friends or catch the bus. Taking a few extra seconds and staying alert can prevent a tragedy.

Parents, please remind your children to: 🦺 Use crosswalks whenever possible.
🦺 Wait for the bus a safe distance from the road.
🦺 Look both ways before crossing.
