Chicken Coop Fire

At 08:12, the Malvern Fire Company, along with assistance from stations 2, 3, 5, 6, and 56, were dispatched to the 100 block of Church Road in Malvern Borough for a reported fire in an outbuilding. Chief 4 responded and was informed that a chicken coop was on fire. Chief 4, Deputy 4, and Chief 3 arrived and observed smoke in the area, with additional information to follow.
Chief 4 located a small box inside the chicken coop that was burning and reduced the response to Engine 4, Tower 3, and Squad 5. Engine 4 arrived and deployed its booster line to extinguish the fire. Crews worked for a short period before turning the scene over to the homeowners. No chickens were harmed in the incident.
