Shortly after 8 PM on 11/11 the Malvern Fire Company was dispatched to a reported house fire on Arlington Rd. in Willistown Township. Assistant 4 arrived with smoke showing from the eves of the 3-story house. Assistant 4 and Malvern PD we’re able to get the homeowner out of the residence. The command was established by Assistant 4 and orders were given. Engine 5 from East Whiteland arrived and laid a supply line to the scene. When L4 arrived seconds later, they backed into the driveway and set its aerial in service. Engine 5’s crew went into service with a 1 ¾ attack line. Chief 4 arrived command was transferred and Assistant 4 took operations. Multiple lines and crews were utilized to look for the fire in the walls of the older balloon frame construction. Units operated on the scene for 3 hours. Mutual aid was provided by Paoli Fire Co., Berwyn Fire Co., East Whiteland Fire Co., Goshen Fire Co., Radnor Fire Co., and an air truck from the Goodwill Fire Co. of WC.
