Electrical Fire in Station 4's local
By Fire Chief Jim Rapp
March 6, 2023
Shortly before noon, on Monday, March 6th, 2023, the Malvern Fire Company was dispatched to a house fire located on Duffryn Ave. Assistant Chief Jerry Vaughn arrived on location to find the main electrical box to the rear of the residence of fire and arching. Assistant 4A assumed command of the incident. Responding Units from Berwyn (Station 2), Paoli (Station 3), East Whiteland (Station 5), Goshen (Station 54/56) assisted with keeping the fire contained to the area of the electrical box and damage to the siding on the house. Companies kept the fire check until PECO arrived to de-energize the electrical service. The fire did not extend into the house. The fire is under investigation with the Chester County Fire Marshal office. Crews were in service for approximately an hour. Thanks to our Mutual Aid companies for your assistance.
