| At 12:23 hours Delco Station 41 (Newtown Square) was dispatched for a brush fire in the 900 block of Providence Road. Due to Delco Chief 41-9 getting reports of a large brush fire that was approaching a house, he requested assistance from Tac 3 (Paoli), Brush 4 (Malvern), and Delco 64-8 (Edgemont). At 12:31 hours Brush 56 (Goshen) and Engine 4-5 (Malvern) were dispatched to assist.
Delco Chief 41-9 established Providence Road Command. Both Engine 4-5 and Ambulance/Medic 4 made the response. Providence Road Command reported that he had approximately 30 acres of field well involved. Engine 4-5 was ordered to supply Delco Rescue 41 and send it's crew into the field along Providence Road in order to contain the fire. Ambulance/Medic 4 set up a rehab behind Engine 4-5. Due to high winds additional assistance was requested from Station 3, Station 56/56, and Station 5.
Crews from Engine 4-5 along with crews from Goshen and Edgemont worked at the top of the field to keep the fire contained to the one side of Providence Road. At 12:56 hours Providence Road Command reported that Medic 104-7 (Riddle EMS) was treating a firefighter with burns. Brush 4 assisted in hitting hot sports that had already burned. At 13:24 hours Command placed the fire under control.
At 14:01 hours command was terminated and all units went available. Special Thanks to Goshen, Lionville, and Valley Forge for standing by at our station during this incident.
