By News Desk
April 15, 2007

At 04:56 Hrs Station 2 (Berwyn) was dispatched to the 5 Guys Hamburgers restaurant in the 200 block of E Swedesford Rd for an automatic fire Alarm. The police arrived onscene with a smoke condition inside, followed shortly after by Lt. 2B (Brazunas) reporting light smoke from the front. He established Gateway command and requested the upgrade to the building fire. The upgrade brought and Engine and Ladder from Montco 47 (King of Prussia) and an Engine and Ladder from Delco 15 (Radnor). After further investigation Lt. 2B was able to see visible fire back towards the kitchen area and requested the working fire dispatch. This added Rescue 4 for RIT, Rescue 68 (Valley Forge) for the airbank and an additional BLS unit from station 2. Engine 2-2s crew found fire on a fryer and knocked it with a dry chemical extinguisher as crews from Radnors engine pulled a handline. Malvern's RIT team stoodby as the balance of fire crews checked for extension. None was found, the RIT team was ordered to stand down and units began to clear the scene.
