| At 14:41hrs, the Malvern Fire Company was dispatched for Ladder 4 and Engine 4-5, along with St. 56 (Goshen) for an Engine to assist St. 5 (East Whiteland) on a house fire. Original reports were stating that there was smoke coming from the roof. Ladder 4 (Asst. 4 N. Vaughn) and Engine 5-3 (1st. Lt. B. Humphreys) responded shortly after dispatch. Engine 5-3 arrived onscene within minutes, upon investigation the crews found a working fire in the kitchen and requested a working fire dispatch, which brought Ladder 56 (Goshen), Rescue 2 (Berwyn) for RIT, and MICU-67.
Ladder 4 arrived onscene minutes after Engine 5-3 and was ordered to set up ground ladders, ventilate, and pull a second attack line to the second floor of the home to check for extension. Engine 4-5 (FF. D. McNaughton) arrived and assisted with pulling the second attack line. After the fire was placed under control, extensive overhaul was performed, and all units cleared the scene by 17:00hrs.
Thank you to Delco Ladder 41 (Newtown Square) for covering our local during this incident. |
