August 20, 2011

Ladder 4 departed Malvern at 18:15 hrs and arrived at Delco Station 63(Green Ridge)at approximately 19:00 hrs. Ladder 4 and DE Engine 115 (Brandywine Hundred) were on hand to help cover Aston Township while the members of Green Ridge Fire Company took a bus trip to Washington DC to take in a Phillies game.

Ladder 4 and Engine 115 relieved Ladder 15(Delaware City) and Rescue 48(Tinicum Twp) at 19:00 hrs. Crews were treated to dinner at a local eatery, made a stop at Wawa for some dessert and spent the evening socializing with each other at the firehouse. A gear race between a Malvern member and a Brandywine Hundred member was also source for great entertainment.

At 06:50 hours Sunday morning, Ladder 4 came across a 2 vehicle accident while returning home. Ladder 4 was statused on the scene while Lieutenant A. Rychlak handled patient care of one injured subject. The remainder of the crew tended to the various hazards. Once Medic 72-7 was on the scene, patient care was transferred and Ladder 4 cleared to continue the trip home.

Again at 07:33 while on the way home Ladder 4 was alerted to the 300 block of Paoli Pike for a fire alarm. Crews investigated and determined that no services were necessary. Upon clearing the fire alarm, the crew of Ladder 4 returned available at approximately 07:45 hrs.
