By News Desk
January 20, 2012

At 21:55 hours stations 54 and 56(Goshen) were dispatched to the unit block of Hill Street in East Goshen Township for a reported house fire. Within moments Chief 54(Everhart) was responding and received reports of a working fire.

Captain 54 (Gleim) arrived on scene at 21:58 hrs and reported fire showing from the first floor. At this time the Working Fire Dispatch was sounded which re-alerted Goshen units, added Medic 91 (Chester County Hospital), Ladder 53 (Fame of WCFD), Air 52(Goodwill of WCFD) and Ladder 4 for the RIT assignment.

Engine 54-1 arrived and crews stretched attack lines to fight the fire on the first floor. Tower 54, Ladder 56, Engine 54-2 and Engine 56 arrived and crews went to work on interior and exterior operations.

WCFD crews arrived and assisted with fire suppression operations, while the crew of Ladder 4 and Tac 4 arrived with 12 personnel and set up RIT teams on sides A and C.

Interior crews worked hard to chase the hard-to-reach fire while roof crews opened up for the interior. Once the last of the fire was reached and extinguished, the fire was placed under control at 22:56 hrs.

East Goshen and Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.

Once the crews extinguished all hot spots and ensured there was no more fire extension, crews began to pack up equipment and clear the fireground.

Station 4 units were clear of the scene at 00:26 hrs.
