𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 🚑

You see the lights.

You hear the sirens.

Maybe you pull over, watch the ambulance pass, and then go on with your day.

But have you ever stopped to think about what might be happening inside?

There could be a paramedic kneeling beside someone, trying to start an IV while the ambulance moves beneath them.

Someone watching a heart monitor while listening carefully to every change in their patient’s breathing.

Someone asking questions in the calmest voice they can manage because the person on the stretcher is terrified.

They’re checking vitals.

Giving medications.

Calling ahead to the hospital.

Reassuring a scared parent.

Holding the hand of someone who doesn’t have anyone else there to hold it.

Sometimes they’re bringing a brand-new life into the world.

Sometimes they’re doing everything they possibly can to keep another one here.

And sometimes, they’re simply sitting beside someone on one of the worst days of their life, making sure they don’t face it alone.

All while the ambulance is moving.

The sirens are screaming.

Traffic is shifting around them.

And they’re already thinking three steps ahead about what their patient might need next.

Then the doors open.

The patient is handed over.

The ambulance gets cleaned.

Supplies get replaced.

And before they’ve had much time to process what just happened, another call may come in.

So the next time an ambulance passes you, remember:

There’s a whole world happening behind those doors.

A patient who is somebody’s person.

And first responders doing everything they can to get them where they need to be.
