Effective June 5,2026
Paul Miller's Law prohibits drivers from holding their phones or supporting them against their bodies while operating a vehicle.
The restrictions remain in effect even when the vehicle is temporarily stopped, such as at red lights, in traffic jams, or during other short delays.
Drivers may use their phones only through hands-free technology, including Bluetooth, voice commands, or built-in car systems, to access GPS, music, or make calls.
A hand-held phone may be used only to contact law enforcement or emergency services during an emergency.
