| An elevated risk for fire spread is expected today across southeastern Pennsylvania. Minimum relative humidity values will fall to around 25 to 35 percent this afternoon. Northwesterly winds with gusts up to 20 to 25 miles per hour are also forecast. These conditions, along with the drying of fine fuels, may allow fires to spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
Conditions are expected to improve this evening as wind speed decreases and relative humidity rises.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Please ensure that all potential sources of ignition, including cigarette butts and other smoking materials, are properly extinguished and disposed of.
This forecast has been developed in collaboration with state fire officials, taking into account meteorological, fuel, and land conditions. |
