Last evening at our weekly training session crews practiced basic search techniques at an acquired structure. Performing searches is an essential practice to locate individuals trapped in a fire or ensure that no one remains in the fire building. Crews practiced their communications techniques and tool usage as they worked in teams of two to search the house filled with smoke. Practice sessions like this allow us to build our skills so when we are called on for a real emergency we are prepared to perform our duties.
