On September 10, 2019 at 0057 hours, the East Whiteland Fire Company (5) along with Malvern Fire Company (4), West Whiteland Fire Company (6), Goshen Fire Company (56), Paoli Fire Company (3), and Berwyn Fire Company (2) were dispatched to the 100 block of Planebrook Road in East Whiteland Township for a reported building fire. Initial reports stated that there was smoke from the windows and flames could be seen from the front and rear of the building. Shortly after East Whiteland PD arrived on scene and confirmed the report at that time the working fire dispatch was ordered adding Air 52 (Goodwill Fire Company), Good Fellowship Ambulance club of West Chester (55), Chester County Fire Marshals, and PECO. Ladder 4(K. Johnson) made the response with a crew of three along with Chief 4(J. Rapp). Engine 5 arrived on scene and began initial fire attack. The incident became dangerous for firefighters to be inside so firefighting operations were switched to exterior attack, utilizing master streams from Ladder 4, and Tower 3. Fire crews made a quick knock of the fire and the fire was placed under control at 0154 hours. All Malvern units were clear from the scene by 0404 hours. The fire is currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal’.
