Passing of Charles E. Thomas

It is with deep sorrow that the Malvern Fire Company announces the passing of Life Member, Charles E. Thomas, 80, on February 26, 2018. Charlie joined Malvern in 1953 and held various positions with the Company over the past 65 years, Fire Fighter, Fire Police, Engineer, Deputy Chief Engineer, Ambulance Chairman, and Trustee. Charlie also served the Malvern Community as a Police Officer with the Malvern Police Department. After joining Malvern, Charlie served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959.

Charlie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty. She also was a Life Member of the Company serving as an Officer of the Ladies Auxiliary and Company Treasurer. This family’s dedication to serving the community is a true testament of what volunteering is all about, and continues to live on in Beth, Bill, Jessica, and Samantha.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Friday, March 9th, from 6:00-8:00pm at Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home, 24 Monument Ave, Malvern, PA and on Saturday, March 10th, from 10:00-11:00am at Great Valley Presbyterian Church, 2025 Swedesford Rd, Malvern, PA. Charlie’s Life Celebration will follow at 11:00am at Great Valley Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Great Valley Presbyterian Cemetery.
