Mother's Day Car Fire

At 13:41 hrs on Mother's Day, Station 4 was dispatched to the 100 block of East King Street for a vehicle fire. Chief 4 (Gastwirth) responded and was advised of a single vehicle on fire in close proximity to a shed and a building.

Tac 4 arrived and deployed two 1 3/4" hand lines to protect the exposures and extinguish the vehicle that was found to have an engine compartment fire. Engine 4-5 arrived and supplied Tac 4 with additional water.

The fire was extinguished within a couple minutes of the Fire Department arrival and no fire extension was found in the nearby shed. Malvern units cleared the scene by 14:30hrs.
