At 06:56 hours Station 3 (Paoli) was dispatched to the unit block of Devon Road in Willistown Township for a house fire. Initial information indicated that the fire alarm was going off and there was believed to be something burning in the basement.

Chief 3 (Dutter) arrived on the scene and established Devon Road Command, determining that there was a room and contents fire in the basement. With this, he requested Ladder 4 and Station 2 (Berwyn) for RIT.

Crews made a quick stop on this fire which could have been much worse. Ladder 4's crew ventilated the residence and helped other units take up before going available. The fire was placed under control around 07:20 hrs with final Malvern units clearing the scene around 08:00 hrs.

The fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal.
