EMS Call Requires Technical Rescue in Malvern

At 09:14 hours Station 4 EMS units were dispatched to a home under construction in the 300 block of Old Lincoln Highway for a medical emergency. After arriving on the scene, EMS crews found a patient who had suffered a medical emergency and fallen in to the open foundation area of the home. With this, Ladder 4 was requested at 09:18 hours to assist with the technical rescue.

Ladder 4 arrived and utililzed System 99 rigging and a stokes basket to effect the rescue, which was completed 29 minutes after the arrival of fire units. EMS crews provided patient care as Fire crews set up the rigging. Once out of the foundation area, the patient was transported to a hospital by Malvern's ambulance.

Malvern Fire units cleared the scene at 10:06 hrs.
