As Malvern units arrived on the scene Deputy 4 (Gastwirth) determined that there was a fire involving the exterior soffit area of a house on Warren Avenue as a result of the arcing power lines. Chief 4 (N. Vaughn) Established Warren Avenue Command as Tac 4 laid a 3" supply line from a hydrant at King Street & Warren Avenue and deployed a 1 3/4" attack line. Crews utilized a fog pattern to quickly and safely extinguish the fire.

Ladder 4 was positioned in case the aerial was neededand Engine 4-5 and Ambulance/Medic 4-1 provided additional manpower to check for additional hazards and any fire extension in the house. With no extension found, the situation was quickly placed under control and the Chester County Fire Marshals Office was notified.

Malvern crews waited on scene until PECO was able to arrive and secure the electrical service to the home and cleared the scene around 20:10 hours.
