On Friday, June 27th the Malvern Fire Company received notification from the Department of Homeland Security that we were selected to recieve a federal grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The grant is in the amount of $39,000 and will be used to replace the air compressor used in our self contained breathing apparatus filling station. The system is used to refill air bottles that fire fighters wear on their backs in hazardous or potentially hazardous environments. The bottles ensure that fire fighters are breathing clean air, and the filling station ensures that the bottles remain filled with clean air and ready for use.

A special thanks to grant writer John Sly and all MFC personnel who were key in helping us attain this grant.
