At 13:51 hours Station 4 was dispatched for the Engine and Ladder along with Station 52 (Goodwill of WCFD) to assist Stations 54 and 56 (Goshen) on a reported building fire. The fire was reported to be involving the roof of a manufacturing building in the 1300 block of Wilson Drive in East Goshen Township.

Chief 54 (Everhart) arrived on the scene reporting a 500' x 500' manufacturing building with smoke showing from the roof. Ladder 56 arrived and crews stretched a line to the roof were they encountered roofing materials and construction debris on fire. Chief 54 established Wilson Drive Command while Assistant 56 (Will) had the operations.

Engine 54-1 established a water supply for Ladder 56 and crews knocked down the fire on the roof. Ladder 4 arrived and set the aerial to the roof. Engine 4-5 and ladder crews from Malvern stood by as it was determined that the fire on the roof had not extended in to the building. Engine 52-2 was assigned the RIT group.

The fire was quickly placed under control and is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshals Office. Malvern units were clear of the scene by approximately 14:45 hrs.
