Tonight the members of the Malvern Fire Company performed the final step of placing Ladder 4 in-service. Mr. Jason Behler from KME trained members on the operations of the new ladder truck. This four-hour training went over all operating aspects of the truck. Once the training was complete, the ladder was placed in service with the Chester County Department of Emergency Services.

Ladder 4 is a 2009 KME 75’ Quint. The ladder has a 500-gallon water tank; 2,000 GPM pump; 10 KW hydraulic generator; and seating for six. There is a full compliment of truck and engine company tools, NFPA compliant ground ladder selection, and also carries Holmatro rescue tools. Ladder 4 will run first out on all structure related incidents and second out on motor vehicle accidents.
