As Station 4 crews were clearing a small brush/trash fire, the county alerted Malvern crews of a car fire in the 200 block of Lancaster Avenue in Willistown. Engine 4-5, Tac 4 and Ambulance 4-1 responded from the scene and were advised by Chief 3 (Dutter) and Station 2 EMS Units (Berwyn) that there was a working fire in the engine compartment.

Tac 4 with Battalion 4 (Johnson) arrived on location confirming the report of working fire in the engine compartment. Engine 4-5 arrived and pulled a 200 foot 1 3/4" handline and extinguished the fire in a matter of minutes.

Once the fire was out, Station 4 crews began to pack up their equipment and cleared the scene a short time later. A special thanks to the Berwyn EMS crew who assisted us on the scene.
