| On Saturday November 19th, 2011 the Malvern Fire Company officially kicked off its building expansion project with an official ground breaking ceremony. This project is funded through the Federal Recovery Act Grant funding as well as state funding. These funds were secured by our Grant writer John Sly and State Senator Andrew Dinniman. Without these two individuals diligent work, this project would not of been able to be completed. Local dignitaries and honored guests in attendance were State Senator Andrew Dinniman, State Representative Duane Milne, Willistown Township Supervisor Norman McQueen, our Grant Writer John Sly and representatives from Bernardon Haber Halloway (Paul Sgroi) and Schorn Construction. Following a short ceremony, these dignitaries and honored guests, as well as fire company representatives, moved the first dirt for the project. The expansion is a two bay addition to the firehouse as well as adding operational space such as bunk rooms, radio communications area, and new bath and shower facilities as well. The builder, Schorn Construction, hopes to have this project completed by March of 2012. The Malvern Fire Company would like to thank the numerous people and firms who have helped and will help with this project. |
