Members Attend Officer Development Class

On Saturday January 28th and Sunday January 29th five members attended an Officer Development Class at the Chester County Intermediate Unit in Downingtown. This class was hosted by the Downingtown Fire Department and taught by Traditions Training. In attendance were 50 students from all over the region who all gained knowledge in incident command functions and officer level matters that are relevant in all facets in the fire service. Ladder 4 Standby At Lionville

On January 28 from 07:00 hours to 23:00 hours, Ladder 4 along with Engine 34 (Martins Corner) were on standby at Station 47 (Lionville). Lionville had requested coverage while they attended a training session during the day and their own Yearly Banquet that night. The crew from Ladder 4 had a quiet day and night at Lionville responding to zero calls for service. At 23:00 hours Ladder 4 returned to Malvern.

At 16:06 hours Station 4 Medics were dispatched to the One Hundred Block of Stratford Court in Charlestown Township for the Burn Victim Inside the Residence. Also on this response was Station 5 (East Whiteland) fire. Lieutenant 5 arrived on the scene and reported alarms sounding from the inside as well as a light smoke condition. Auto Accident With Entrapment In East Whiteland

At 14:49 hours TAC 4 was dispatched to King Road and Frazer Rd in East Whiteland to assist Station 5 on the Accident With Entrapment. Approximately ten minutes prior to the TAC being dispatched, Station 5 and Medic 4 were initially dispatched to the scene. Deputy 5 and Chief arrived to find one vehicle into the telephone pole with the driver of the vehicle trapped inside and two other occupants to be checked by EMS. At 00:27 hrs Station 2(Berwyn), Station 3(Paoli), and Delco Station 15(Radnor)were dispatched to the 200 block of Devonshire Road in Tredyffrin Township for a house fire. Reports were given to Chief 2 (Norris) of the police on scene with a working fire. First in crews encountered heavy fire conditions on the second and third floors of the split level home. At 21:55 hours stations 54 and 56(Goshen) were dispatched to the unit block of Hill Street in East Goshen Township for a reported house fire. Within moments Chief 54(Everhart) was responding and received reports of a working fire. Captain 54 (Gleim) arrived on scene at 21:58 hrs and reported fire showing from the first floor. At 01:39 hrs Station 5 (East Whiteland), Ladder 4, Engine 4-5, and Station 3 (Paoli) were alerted to the Lincoln Court Shopping Center in East Whiteland Township for a reported building fire. Deputy 5(Nowaczyk) was advised that a passerby was reporting a large volume of steam from the roof of an italian restuarant, an odor of something burning and smoke in an adjacent store.
