At 15:39 Ladder 4 and Engine 4-5 were dispatched along with Engine 56(Goshen) and Tower 6(West Whiteland) to assist Station 5(East Whiteland) on a reported apartment building fire at the William Henry apartments in the 1000 block of King Road in East Whiteland Township.

Deputy 5(Nowaczyk) was given the report of smoke on the top floor with additional calls reporting smoke in the lobby area. He quickly arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior.

Engine 5-3 arrived first and sent crews to the interior to investigate. Ladder 4 arrived with Engine 56 and positioned behind Engine 5-3 on the A side of the building.

Crews located a boiler room and after forcing the door, discovered the room to be fully charged with smoke. The power was cut to the oil burner, and it was determined that there was no fire.

Crews utilized positive pressure fans to eject the smoke from the building and all crews returned to service within 30 minutes.
